A hidden gem in Orvieto. We stumbled upon this restaurant on our 1st evening in Orvieto. We did not have a reservation, but they were still able to seat us at one of their outdoor tables. Which was perfect for us. The service was excellent. The food and wine were delicious. We will definitely go back next time we are in Orvieto.

This restaurant was recommended by both our accommodation hosts and by a good friend who is a long time visitor to Orvieto. We made a reservation earlier in the day to ensure we could secure an outdoor table. The staff were very welcoming, attentive and friendly. My lovely described the lamb as “Bellissimo”. Cooked to perfection. Having completed the tour of the Orvieto Underground earlier in our visit I finally took the plunge and ordered the local delicacy - piccione (pigeon). Authentic Umbrian cuisine at this cozy trattoria located on a small street near the Piazza della Repubblica. The decor, service, and food were all characterized by understated elegance. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience after a day of exploring Orvieto.

What an amazing little place off the beaten path! Being vegetarian there were a good choice of items on the menu. The truffle pasta was absolutely amazing, as well as the tomato bruschetta!
Be sure to get one of their fantastic desserts. We had the tiramisu and pistachio semifreddo, along with the l'orvietan amaro. Which we ended up buying a few bottles at a local shop.

Very tasty local specialties! We had Caprese Salad, Prosciutto melone, Minestrone di orzo, Osso Buco con Pure di Patate, pasta dell’Orso and tagliatelle al tartufo. All dishes were excellent! Friendly owner and staff, service could be a faster but we didn’t mind as we had time and enjoyed the slow food slow living experience!

Grazie , vedo che ha centrato il punto , tutti i piatti sono espressi , fatti al momento , non abbiamo nulla di precotto oppure finito al microonde altri 10 non ne hanno mangiate )) quindi surgelato ( che non c’è niente di male ) e questo allunga un poco i tempi del servizio , però si guadagna in freschezza ,
The best trattoria I’ve ever been to in my life! The service was warm and attentive, the food was absolutely outstanding and the wines were impeccable. An unforgettable experience I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Food is fantastic. We found this very local place in the heart of the touristic city of Ovieto. The tartare with truffle is the very best that I ever had. Followed with the boar pasta which is absolutely amazing. The poultry dish was a bit Chinese style and well made and the tiramisu is very well balanced . Overall a fantastic experience

Wonderful lunch in Orvieto. One of the best meals we had in Italy. The beef tartare appetizer was fantastic and the wild boar umbricelli with truffles was a 10/10 dish as was the guinea fowl. The depth of flavorof both of these dishes was probably the best we’ve had. Local carafe of Orvieto Classico wine was delicious. The owner was very kind and cheerful. Really outstanding.

We were at 1st round so everything was great! Especially delicious food. Best dinner had in Orvieto. However be careful when u r at 2nd round because could be slow service.

Grazie per la visita , 2nd locale pieno quasi tutte portate diverse ( cena alla carta ed espressa , cucinata al momento )non avendo niente da riscaldare al microonde i tempi si allungano di una decina di minuti o poco più , a tutti piace lo slow food , ma vanno pazzi per il fast food Comunque grazie

We decided to get lunch at Antica Trattoria dell’Orso on a recent trip to Orvieto based on the recommendation of a friend that lives in town. We love traditionally prepared food and when we travel we look for dishes and wine that are local, and this restaurant has both.
We started with a couple of antipasti. The fried pork-belly was amazing. It has been a while since I enjoyed US style bacon and this exceeded all expectations. It was flavorful, smokey and crunchy. We also ate a selection of sliced meats. I hadn’t had this in a while so I might have enjoyed it more than I should have, but it was great as well.
We enjoyed a regional pasta called Umbricelli, which is a fresh pasta that was chewy and held up to the sauce well. I had it with a cinghiale ragù and truffles and it was delicious. I believe the pasta, sauce and truffles are all Umbrian delicacies and I was so happy we came to this restaurant.
For dessert we enjoyed a pistacchio semifreddo and a torta di mele, both of which paired well with the strong espresso, which finished off our fantastic lunch.- Servizio
